Chandrayaan, India’s second lunar mission to take off on July 15

Thiruvannathapuram: Chandrayaan 2, India’s Rs 1000 Crore mission to the Moon is all set to take off on July 15 at 2.51 am. ISRO chairman Dr K Sivan announced at a press conference on Wednesday. Chandrayaan -2 with 3.8 tonnes, tantamount to the weight of eight elephants will carry 13 scientific satellites, ISRO chairman said.  Chandrayan -2 is set to explore the Southern part of the Moon. India is the debut country to explore Southern part of the Moon. The mission is the most complex one ever taken by ISRO, Sivan said. Chandrayaan -2, the second mission to Moon is comprised to have three modules, orbiter, Lander and Rover.
